Job Overview

Position Summary:

The individual in this role will be tasked with the evaluation of medical-legal documentation, enhancing formatting, verifying factual accuracy, and composing medical history summaries derived from existing medical records. Common responsibilities will involve incorporating essential biographical information, rectifying document formatting issues, and ensuring the precision of dates and medical details referenced in the reports by cross-referencing with source documents.

This position may involve communication with clients, healthcare professionals, and supervisory personnel via phone and email. The ability to meet deadlines is crucial, as many reports are time-sensitive in relation to administrative requirements.

Upon completion of the training phase, a typical workday will consist of receiving assigned reports from a supervisor, with clear deadlines and priorities outlined, allowing the employee to manage and complete all tasks within the specified timeframes. In addition to primary responsibilities, the employee may also undertake additional tasks and projects as directed by management.

This role is designated internally as "QA Report Reviewer - Level 1" and provides opportunities for bonuses, career advancement, and other forms of recognition based on performance.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional writing abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with healthcare professionals, legal representatives, governmental bodies, and a broad range of corporate clients.
  • Proficient research skills, utilizing established medical reference materials and patient records.
  • Comfortable with standard office software and tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PDFs, and cloud-based applications.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment, with a strong emphasis on prioritization and timeliness.

Educational Background:

A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Candidates with a paralegal background are also encouraged to apply. Ideal fields of study include English, Health Sciences, Pre-Law, or other disciplines with a focus on health, legal, and writing skills.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years in a relevant role is preferred. Recent graduates with a strong academic record will also be considered.

While a medical background is not mandatory, experience in medical, legal, or insurance sectors is highly advantageous. Successful candidates have previously held positions in nursing, pre-medical programs, hospital scribe roles, research positions, or insurance claims management.
