Role Responsibilities: As a Certified Respiratory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-support respiratory care in various settings, including general and intensive patient care areas or home care environments. Your duties will include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure optimal outcomes for individuals of all ages.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members, patients, and families to develop, implement, and assess an age-specific interdisciplinary care plan.
- Managing resources effectively, prioritizing tasks, and adjusting the environment to meet patient care needs.
- Contributing to practice, environmental, and work-related discussions by participating in unit, hospital, and organizational activities that promote staff involvement in decision-making.
- Serving as a clinical practice role model for colleagues, students, and physicians.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and/or certification from a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Current licensure as a respiratory care practitioner by the relevant state board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Successful completion of orientation and competency validation for this role.
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within three months of employment, or as determined by departmental requirements.
- Some areas may necessitate ACLS, NRP, or PALS certification within one year of employment.
- Active membership in a professional organization (AARC) is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
