Radiation Protection Specialist

**About the Role**
Volt is a leading provider of staffing solutions in the field of health physics. We are currently seeking a skilled Radiation Protection Specialist to join our team.
**Salary:** The salary for this role is between $50 and $53 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
**Job Description:
We are looking for a Radiation Protection Specialist to perform work planning, work management activities, and radiological work planning for the Radiation Protection Department. This includes dose estimating, creating dose reduction strategies, and risk mitigation strategies.
The successful candidate will also analyze and evaluate radiation protection performance data and station exposure data to determine radiation protection program effectiveness.
Additionally, you will lead monthly dose budget meetings, plan and review station department's monthly dose goals.
You will perform reviews and evaluations of department activities, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations, standards, and recommendations.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a science-related field and a minimum of five years of experience in radiation protection either as a Health Physics Technician, RP Supervisor, or RP professional staff position.
- An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Health Physics and a minimum of seven years of experience in radiation protection either as a Health Physics Technician, RP Supervisor, or RP professional staff position.
- A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of nine years of experience in radiation protection either as a Health Physics Technician, RP Supervisor, or RP professional staff position.
