Mitsubishi Chemical Battery Materials is a leading manufacturer of electrolyte battery materials for electric vehicles and beyond. Our Memphis, Tennessee facility is a fully integrated company that produces Sol-RiteTM formulated electrolytes used in lithium-ion batteries.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Mitsubishi Chemical Battery Materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of equipment at our Memphis, TN plant site and repairing equipment that fails in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe working environment by using safe work procedures and advising proper guidelines for the purchase, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Assist in diagnosing problems to a root cause failure and facilitate repairs as needed.
  • Provide expertise to help develop reliability improvements and assist with implementing approved projects.
  • Focus on continuous improvement to achieve reduction in downtime for mechanical activities.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pumps and associated equipment.
  • Install, service, and repair all mechanical seal types.
  • Utilize the work order system to track and complete daily job duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required.
  • 3+ years' experience in maintaining a chemical plant.
  • Knowledge of relevant OSHA safety rules.
  • Obtain an acceptable score on the appropriate Work Keys skill tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess three or more of the following advanced skills: code weld pipe in the 6G position, perform laser alignment, perform and interpret vibration analysis, field-balance rotating equipment, qualified to inspect and repair rigging, qualified to design and apply online leak repairs, inspect, test, and overhaul relief devices, Journeyman's certification in any trade skill.
