Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:
System One is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engine issues, including fuel system problems and transmission malfunctions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Drive to road calls, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Maintain certifications and continue seeking training classes and ASE certifications.
  • Prior diesel mechanic experience is required, with a valid CDL Class B license.
  • Inspect trucks to ensure they are in proper working condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose issues.
  • Repair and troubleshoot major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of diesel mechanic experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diesel Mechanic/Technician training not needed but is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • CDL a plus.
  • Truck mechanical aptitude.
  • Union Shop exposure a plus.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
