Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Data Scientist to join our Chief Data Office team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As an Advanced Data Scientist, you will work closely with a diverse team of professionals to understand client needs and solve complex problems through the application of artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply data science techniques and machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems
  • Implement data analysis within programming languages such as Python or R, including deep learning libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Analyze complex data sets using data analysis and visualization software such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI
  • Explain complex technical concepts to experienced and non-experienced groups
  • Learn and apply unfamiliar software quickly and independently
  • Obtain a Secret clearance

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience applying data science techniques and machine learning algorithms
  • Experience implementing data analysis within programming languages such as Python or R
  • Experience analyzing complex data sets using data analysis and visualization software
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts
  • Ability to learn and apply unfamiliar software quickly and independently
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Material Science, EE, Mathematics, Information Science, Data Science, or CS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing data science and machine learning applications or tools
  • Knowledge of LLMs built around transformer architectures
  • Knowledge of current research in Deep Learning for Natural Language Processing
  • Knowledge of different software development approaches, including DevSecOps and AIOps
  • Master's degree in Physics, Material Science, EE, Mathematics, Information Science, Data Science, or CS preferred; Doctorate degree in Physics, Material Science, EE, Mathematics, Information Science, Data Science, or CS a plus
  • IT Security Certification such as CompTIA Security+ Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172, annualized USD. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
