The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in providing safe and effective care to patients by performing a wide range of technical procedures. This includes setting up equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring that all studies are properly identified and documented.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment
- Position patients for procedures and ensure their safety and comfort
- Verify patient identification and ensure that all studies are properly documented
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the highest level of patient care
- Graduate of an approved AMA Nuclear Medicine Program
- ARRT Nuclear Technology or Cert Nuclear Med Tech certification
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor certification
- Experience in a clinical setting caring for patients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works in a fast-paced clinical environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure accurate diagnoses. The ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
