Department Overview:
The N114 Resilient Warfighter Space Services Department is devoted to providing robust space-based capabilities that support successful joint operations across all domains. We achieve mission success by leveraging our operational insights, technical proficiency, and comprehensive understanding of the technology landscape. Our team engages in pioneering technical research and prototype development, delivering data-driven insights to senior government leaders to enhance space-based capabilities. Our diverse portfolio encompasses multiple missions, with a strong emphasis on resilient Satellite Communications (SatCom) and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
Position Summary:
N114 is in search of a Project Leader (PL) to spearhead the PNT Program Office (PNT PO) work program. This pivotal role requires a candidate to serve as the primary MITRE liaison to Air Force leadership, overseeing and shaping a work package that includes Embedded GPS Inertial-Modernized (EGI-M), Resilient-EGI (R-EGI), and Software Defined User Equipment (SDUE). The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical skills, including but not limited to platform systems engineering, modeling & simulation, prototyping, and satellite navigation (SatNav).
Key Responsibilities:
- Sponsor Engagement: Regularly interact with senior sponsors to gain a comprehensive understanding of their mission challenges. Provide strategic and technical leadership as a trusted advisor, enhancing MITRE's role in proactively shaping programs to meet operational objectives.
- Project Leadership: Define and develop project outcomes in alignment with NSEC Space Warfighting goals, addressing current and future challenges faced by sponsors.
- Janus Leadership Role: Oversee technical performance, staffing, and funding execution for resources provided by multiple government stakeholders.
- Project Administration: Utilize various tools and resources to achieve project goals and ensure successful delivery.
- Product Quality Control: Conduct reviews and analyses to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
- Collaboration: Foster a team environment that builds a robust network of connections, engaging with engineers and subject matter experts.
- Staff Leadership: Collaborate with resource managers to develop the team and support staff growth.
- Culture Development: Promote a positive culture aligned with MITRE's values of speed, adaptability, and respect.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (TS) with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Proven technical expertise in systems engineering in areas such as satellite communications, satellite navigation, and operational assessments.
- Experience with acquisition programs in relevant mission areas.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to foster collaboration across units.
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex technical ideas.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities with minimal supervision.
- This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Aerospace, or a related STEM field, with relevant experience.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams.
- Experience managing interagency agreements.
Salary Compensation Range: $167,500 - $209,500 - $251,500 Annual
