Department Summary:
The Cyber for Identity Trust and Assurance department is a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and practitioners driving innovation in cryptography, software assurance, identity, and trustworthy artificial intelligence. We develop and apply scalable approaches for systems and software, evaluate technology and solutions, lead and foster external partnerships, and conduct novel research and development. Our critical roles include aiding the government in applying cryptography and architecting secure systems, developing and implementing software assurance programs, and developing strategies for identity and access management solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Apply your technical expertise in system security analysis, assurance, secure coding, and reverse engineering to tackle broad challenges faced by our sponsors.
- Identify opportunities to apply your technical knowledge towards solving complex systems and security engineering problems.
- Work with commercial tool vendors to understand the current state of the art in software assurance analyses and collaborate with members of the CVE/CWE/CAPEC teams to flesh out code-level weaknesses and attacks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a Secret clearance.
- Experience with applying security engineering throughout the system engineering lifecycle, including security architecture, software security, intrusion detection, and defensive countermeasures.
- Software development experience across the entire lifecycle, including design, development, and testing.
- Experience with software vulnerabilities and defensive coding practices.
- A personal desire to help others, including our sponsors, develop and acquire safe and secure applications.
- Track record of impactful work – how you have made a difference.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proactive, critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communications skills.
- This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in the application of technology to problem-solving.
- Experience with leading and performing computer security research.
- Must be comfortable leading a team, performing technical reviews, coordinating with other reviewers as appropriate, and leveraging relationships to benefit the work program.
- Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of sponsors.
- Preference given to qualified candidates with active DoD Top Secret / SCI Clearance.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field of study.
