Job Summary

Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assisting during emergency resuscitation, reviewing the accuracy of printed records, and performing post-processing of acquired images.

Responsibilities
  • Assist during emergency resuscitation and scrub during diagnostic and interventional procedures on adult patients.
  • Review the accuracy of printed records prior to placing in medical records and evaluate the accuracy of data.
  • Perform post-processing of acquired images and ensure secure storage and retrieval of images.
  • Set up sterile equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, demonstrating aseptic technique.
  • Assist with patient comfort and well-being before, during, and immediately following procedures.
  • Provide data from which precise anatomic and physiologic diagnosis may be established through sampling and recording.
  • Operate intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and other catheter-based imaging modalities.
  • Oversee digital imaging equipment to optimally define anatomy.
  • Participate in team huddle, time-out, and all aspects of procedure to ensure patient safety.
  • Perform and review baseline patient hemodynamic data and evaluate patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during procedures.
  • Assist as a scrub tech during interventional procedures and function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of all equipment and supplies required for each case type and where they can be obtained.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of procedures and communicate information with RN to ensure smooth progress of cases.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to a nurse.
  • Prep access site as ordered by physician pre-procedure and collect necessary equipment prior to scrubbing/approaching bedside.
  • Actively work to improve performance by seeking and acting on feedback from others.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient safety standards and follow all hospital policies and procedures pertaining to patient safety.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must be RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
