The Cybersecurity Threat Analyst is responsible for monitoring network activity, analyzing suspicious behavior, and recommending proactive measures to contain incidents.

  • Characterize and analyze network traffic to identify threats
  • Coordinate with cyber defense staff to validate alerts
  • Document and escalate potential incidents
  • Perform cyber defense trend analysis
  • Provide daily summary reports of network events
  • Analyze malicious activity and determine weaknesses exploited
  • Examine network topologies and identify anomalies in network traffic
  • Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across data sets
  • Identify applications and operating systems based on network traffic
  • Reconstruct malicious attacks based on network traffic
  • Assist in the construction of signatures for cyber defense tools
  • Notify designated team members of suspected incidents
  • Prepare and update manuals and operating procedures
  • Conduct analyses and recommend resolution of complex issues
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of systems and services

Key Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in cyber defense analysis
  • Experience with intrusion detection technologies
  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) Suitability

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Arcsight or other SEIM solutions
  • Security+ and Python programming experience

Required Education:

BS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field

Desired Certifications/Education:

  • Professional certifications such as GNFA, GCIH, or GSEC
