Respiratory Therapist RRT

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist RRT provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients, diagnosing, evaluating, treating, managing, and controlling cardiopulmonary system deficiencies or abnormalities within physician-prescribed guidelines. This role acts as a resource to CRT staff, participating in clinical projects and initiatives as designated by leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform respiratory care procedures in response to patient needs and physician orders, adhering to departmental policies and protocols.
Evaluate, monitor, and maintain patient care within established guidelines, seeking information from interdisciplinary team members as needed.
Communicate patient care plans to patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, maintaining a team-focused approach.
Independently perform procedures, assessments, and interventions, participating in departmental or specialty care area projects and initiatives.
Support standardization and implementation of department protocols, policies, and procedures for patient care delivery.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and adjust respiratory care equipment and diagnostic equipment.
Develop and implement patient education plans related to respiratory disease and equipment.
Evaluate patient response to interventions, revising care plans as needed and reassessing changes.
Promote the profession of Respiratory Care, acting as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff within the department and patient care areas.
Requirements:
Graduate of a NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program, with verified education from an accredited institution.
Current State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Specific certifications as required (i.e., PALS, ACLS, NRP).
