Key Responsibilities:
Accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates to support waterfront infrastructure development and rehabilitation projects.
  • Assist in resolving design challenges through field investigations, detailed design work, and thorough checking of computations performed by others.
  • Calculate construction quantity estimates.
  • Occasionally supervise and coordinate the work of team members, including staff engineers and CAD designers.
  • Conduct analysis, design, and inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, submarine systems, and other maritime projects.
  • Perform structural analysis and design using timber, steel, concrete, and composite materials.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines, including architects, engineers, and project managers on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Conduct structural site inspections and prepare detailed inspection reports.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of waterfront design experience related to ports, marinas, and coastal structures is required.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Professional Registration in Washington is preferred, or the ability to obtain registration within one year.
  • Prior experience with Department of Defense (DOD) projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD is required.

Preferred Software Experience:
  • SAP2000
  • STAAD
  • LPile

Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening is required.
  • All new hires must pass a pre-employment background check.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $38.00/hour to $59.00/hour, depending on experience, education, professional registration, and qualifications.

Physical Requirements:
The majority of work will be office-based, with some site visits that may require navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
