About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Utility Worker to join our UniFirst team. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance and utility functions to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, painting, and repair.
  • Operate powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts and floor scrubbers, to assist in relocating materials and performing plant cleaning operations.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and performing various levels of facilities upkeep, including landscaping and snow removal.
  • Perform light equipment maintenance tasks, such as fluid level checks and light bulb replacement, after proper training and certification.
  • May be called upon to operate Company vehicles, such as shuttle trucks or route trucks, upon proper training and certification.

Requirements:

  • High school education and/or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment and other similar tools as required.
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools is required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret procedures and instructions in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and managers.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
