Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. As a key member of our overnight team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in providing top-notch medical services.
Responsibilities- Monitor and document patient vital signs and activity
- Provide technical support to emergency veterinarians
- Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients, including critical care patients
- Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
- Perform various laboratory procedures, including blood typing, cross-matching, and slide agglutination testing
- Accurately take and process radiographs while following radiation safety protocols
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment
- Provide professional client communication
- 2+ years of experience working as a Registered Veterinary Technician or open to consider registered technicians with any experience in ER/ICU setting
- A strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
- Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in the technician protocols
- Demonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks/projects
- Competitive salary range: $22 - $36/hour based on experience, plus $4/hour shift differential and an extra $2/hour for ICU overnights
