Position Overview:

The Supervisor will be tasked with managing the daily functions of the team while ensuring adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing, along with relevant state laws and industry agreements.

This role involves actively monitoring and motivating staff to reach optimal performance levels, overseeing the selection processes for testing, and assisting the Associate Manager in executing programs and protocols that cater to both Employers and industry professionals subject to testing requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Directs the daily management of the Testing Program
  • Ensures adherence to governmental and regulatory bodies including DOT, FMCSA, DMV, CHP, FCRA, etc.
  • Facilitates the development and revision of procedures to maintain compliance with state and federal laws as well as company policies
  • Organizes staff workflows to guarantee timely and accurate task completion
  • Engages with team members to convey departmental and organizational objectives, provide training, and address inquiries, troubleshooting, and suggestions
  • Reviews and approves employee time-off requests and timecards, escalating any concerns to the Associate Manager
  • Identifies additional training opportunities for clients and staff
  • Conducts random selections for drug and alcohol testing in line with current DOT-FMCSA regulations and company guidelines
  • Manages follow-up testing schedules and requirements in accordance with DOT-FMCSA regulations and company policies
  • Compiles and assesses semi-annual and annual Management Information System (MIS) reports related to testing program metrics, ensuring compliance with DOT-FMCSA regulations
  • Finalizes and authorizes specific billing items processed by the Coordinator for payment by the Accounting Department and/or escalation to the Associate Manager as necessary
  • Assists Employers during the DOT audit process
