Job SummaryThe Patient Care Technician (PCT/CCHT) will provide direct care to patients with End Stage Renal Disease, supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process. This role will also involve administrative duties in the offices.
Responsibilities- Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings according to facility policies.
- Set up and tear down the dialysis blood system for the treatment process.
- Insert and remove access needles in patients for dialysis treatment.
- Monitor and assess patients during the course of treatment, document changes in the patient condition, and inform charge nurse of problems during treatment.
- Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight.
- Maintain and track inventory.
- Perform laboratory work.
- Determine patient care priorities and organize workload efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights.
- Current CCHT and CPR certification.
- Previous secretarial or administrative assistance experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Paid 12-week training with preceptor.
