Postdoctoral Researcher in Plasma Astrophysics

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Dartmouth College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in plasma astrophysics and computational physics, with expertise in numerical methods and high-performance computing.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will work closely with our team to develop and analyze simulations of astrophysical plasmas near compact objects. This will involve using national supercomputing resources and collaborating with other researchers to advance our understanding of these complex systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. They will also be able to interact and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

Responsibilities will include developing and analyzing simulations, participating in departmental activities, delivering guest lectures, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications:
  • PhD in physics, astrophysics, or a closely related field
