Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Estimator to join our team at Dulles Plumbing Group. As an HVAC Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing bid cost estimates by analyzing construction costs through the review and study of project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by analyzing blueprints, drawings, and other specifications.
  • Prior experience bidding multifamily projects is a plus.
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions.
  • Deliver intelligent and perceptive RFIs.
  • Provide clear, detailed quantity take-offs.
  • Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates by deadlines.
  • Organize sub-contractor and vendor quotations, ensuring quotes meet contract documents.
  • Maintain relationships with sub-contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Assemble material and labor costing information for the company's historical databases.
  • Formulate cost breakdowns from estimates for project managers' pre-construction budgeting.
  • Attend periodic, pre-bid walk-throughs.
  • Work with other company estimators to assemble bid proposals.
  • Prepare for and coordinate project turnover meetings for new projects.
  • Prepare estimate documents, such as proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents.
  • Prioritize and schedule bid workflow and deadlines.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating pricing.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by utilizing technical support programs and continuing education.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of HVAC field experience.
  • Proficiency in Maxwell Estimation Software is a plus.
  • 5 years of previous estimating experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, staff, and management.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, professional, clean appearance.
  • Self-managed and goal-oriented.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Proven ability to analyze, research, estimate, strategize, and disseminate quality information.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be an independent self-starter, motivated, energetic, with excellent time-management skills that drive results.
  • General PC competency, including Microsoft Office, Excel power user preferred.
