Job Summary:

Maintenance Mechanic A09 is a critical role within the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) team. As a Maintenance Mechanic A09, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs maintenance and repair work on plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical systems.
  • Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.
  • Works from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to ensure accurate and efficient work.
  • Operates a variety of equipment and tools, including power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy and communication.
  • Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.
  • Takes action to solve problems quickly and alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge in the applicable combination of trades sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on personal knowledge.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and set up materials and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed both inside and outside, and incumbent is exposed to dirt, paint vapors, and fumes. Must wear protective gear.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
