- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the construction process.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of construction progress, including measurements, reports, and certifications.
- Ensure that all construction materials and equipment meet the required standards and specifications.
- Identify and report any potential problems or safety hazards to the project engineer and supervisor.
- Act as a construction specialist and head inspector on projects, responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least six years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on transportation infrastructure.
- Ability to become certified in DOT classes and maintain these certifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic math skills to compute quantities and costs.
- Ability to interpret and implement company safety policies.
- Valid driver's license.
This position requires working in an outdoor environment for 95% of the time, with moderate noise levels and frequent travel via automobile.
