FULL-TIME DAY SHIFT
The Medical Imaging Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare and organize the examination area to fulfill the requirements of the requested imaging procedures and specific physician directives.
- Manage daily workflow and perform necessary administrative tasks as needed.
- Incorporate previous imaging results, lab findings, patient history, and medical documentation to enhance the examination process.
- Conduct the most suitable imaging examination based on patient data through collaboration with the interpreting physician and/or referring physician as required.
- Deliver patient education and guidance before and after the imaging procedure. Provide training and support to colleagues and students as necessary.
- Exhibit the ability to modify examinations to address patient care challenges as they arise, making informed decisions to resolve issues effectively.
- Execute x-ray imaging procedures while adhering to infection control protocols and radiation safety standards.
- Implement the ALARA principle to ensure optimal radiation safety for oneself, patients, and visitors. Assess patients for pregnancy prior to imaging as needed.
- May conduct surgical x-ray imaging, ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols and AORN standards.
- Engage in additional patient care tasks, responsibilities, and duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/certification.
- Perform other assigned responsibilities as required.
Medical Imaging Specialist
FULL-TIME DAY SHIFT
Candidates for the Medical Imaging Specialist position must meet the following qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is mandatory.
- Proven competency in venipuncture is required.
- Knowledge of PACS/RIS systems is essential.
- Experience with ImageCast/CareCast is advantageous.
- ARRT (R) Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required.
- Certification/Registration/Licensure as mandated by state regulations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at the time of hire.
