Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated individual to become a part of our Operations team at Alpek Polyester USA. The successful candidate for the Assistant Operator role will demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and diligence to ensure that incoming materials are effectively processed while adhering to quality and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the unloading, packaging, documentation, and storage of all finished products.
  • Oversee the monitoring, packaging, and storage of by-products throughout the operational system.
  • Handle the loading and maintenance of chemicals used in the washing process.
  • Ensure proper loading and upkeep of chemicals in the wastewater treatment system.
  • Complete necessary production and inventory control documentation.
  • Report maintenance and safety issues to the Shift Manager promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the wash line and wastewater treatment areas.
  • Check and ensure the performance of all material handling and auxiliary equipment in collaboration with the Wash Line Operator.
  • Adhere to all Wash Line Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Comply with all relevant company and plant Quality, Safety, and Housekeeping regulations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing setting as a machine operator, assistant operator, or helper.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating computerized equipment is necessary.
  • Ability to generate production, process, and inventory reports.
  • Physical requirements include walking/standing for approximately 95% of the time and lifting up to 50 lbs.; involves repetitive bending and climbing.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to take direction from the Shift Manager are essential.
  • Hands-on approach and good listening skills are important.
