Job Summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a skilled Patient Registrar to join our team. As a Patient Registrar, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital's admitting department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographic information
  • Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable
  • Work closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator function and reception areas
  • Operate a computer to input and retrieve data
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff, utilizing age-specific techniques
  • Maintain proficiency in medical terminology

Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Service experience is required
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent is required

Working Conditions

This is a 20-hour per week position, working a combination of day shift and afternoon shift hours. The successful candidate must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays on rotation.
