About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technologist to join our team at the Ohio Department of Public Safety. As an Information Technologist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting our information systems, ensuring the security and integrity of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance and documentation support to information system users and/or IT specialists.
  • Enter meta-data into repositories, perform loading validation, execute unit or system test scripts, and provide maintenance support for application software.
  • Install and monitor support to IT specialists, including unpacking, staging, and/or racking hardware, performing set-up and installation for hardware and/or software, and monitoring systems and notifying higher-level staff of any concerns.
  • Promote system security and awareness by adhering to the Agency's and/or State's IT security policy's and standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an associate core program in computer science or information systems.
  • 12 months combined work experience as specified by the agency position description and job posting.
  • Or 18 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: computers and/or telecommunications software/hardware, applications, support products, projects, or databases for small-scale systems or programs, including 12 months combined work experience as specified by the agency position description and job posting.
  • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
