The Surgical Technologist also ensures that all necessary equipment is accounted for at the start and conclusion of each shift.

Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist is tasked with the preparation of the surgical environment, managing instruments during procedures, maintaining a sterile field, and assessing dynamic conditions throughout surgical interventions, responding appropriately as required. This position requires a thorough understanding of surgical techniques and principles relevant to the procedures performed. The Surgical Technologist may also take on the role of a mentor for new staff.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or ARC is required within 90 days of employment.

Work Environment

This position is full-time, with a day shift schedule. Weekly hours are typically 40, with a work schedule that includes weekdays and variable weekends.
