Job Overview:
This role is integral to the Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Department, focusing on the design and management of landscape architecture projects. The successful candidate will engage in the creation, cost estimation, coordination, and review of construction documents for both small and medium-scale site development and landscape initiatives, while also providing support for larger projects under the guidance of a lead Landscape Architect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design and execution of landscape architecture projects, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Conduct construction inspections to guarantee adherence to project specifications.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including university administration, faculty, and external partners, throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilize innovative design principles and practices to deliver high-quality landscape solutions.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring effective communication within the team.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in project management, landscape design, and horticulture.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including CAD and project management tools.
  • A valid operator's license and the ability to operate university vehicles.

Desired Skills:
  • Over five years of experience as a registered Landscape Architect in Michigan.
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment for planning and construction projects.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills.
  • A creative thinker with a commitment to lifelong learning and collaboration.
