Job Description:

The position is responsible for providing infrastructure architecture support for DHHS and DHHS AS Teams. Not filling the vacancy will result in difficulty supporting mission-critical applications related to the health and well-being of the public. We will not be able to accommodate requests from MDHHS for adding new or maintaining existing applications and services in a timely manner due to a lack of availability for existing resources.

The successful candidate will coordinate and integrate system data models and design to promote data sharing, eliminate redundancy, and provide for the efficient and effective use of the state's data resources. They will also coordinate with and provide technical advice to the Project Manager to develop a project plan.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with data stewards to develop, communicate, and enforce data classification policies and standards. They will create and maintain a metadata repository, including developing and maintaining a formal description of the data, data structures, and data flow diagrams.

The successful candidate will create, maintain, and verify system-level design. They will define and enforce data standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity, dependability, quality, and usability through the use of appropriate security, verification, and data management practices.

The candidate will develop an information architecture model supporting and consistent with Enterprise Information Management. They will develop and maintain the statewide data model to ensure integrated use across all applications.

The successful candidate will develop and manage configuration management standards, processes, and policies. They will document application controls needed to meet security standards.

The candidate will ensure data integration with internal organizations and with external business and IT communities. They will evaluate and recommend software fixes to resolve problems.

The successful candidate will facilitate/lead team members for any application environment consolidation, migration, or integration efforts. They will gather, organize, and track requirements and issues related to IT solutions.

The candidate will lead in the implementation of IT solutions. They will make recommendations to application developers on software integration for existing software.

The successful candidate will perform the development of a data management strategy to ensure data security and appropriate data retention. They will prepare for and provide an organized and professionally facilitated environment for SDT sessions.

The candidate will provide data modeling and design guidance, including identification of data entities, data dependencies, and data relationships. They will recommend solutions based on the technical impact assessment of proposed infrastructure changes to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.

The successful candidate will review Enterprise Architecture Solution Patterns/Reference Models for specific agency application systems. They will analyze EA Solution Assessments cataloged in the EA SA Library for similar system design guidelines.

The candidate will revise and validate project management documents by applying DTMB PMM and SEM to IT solutions. They will revise and validate technical designs, specifications, and diagrams.

The successful candidate will verify the architectural integrity of the application environment.

Over 5+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining systems documentation.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of RHEL experience, 5+ years of Windows Server experience, 3+ years of SQL experience, 3+ years of Network Administration experience, architecting Container Orchestration K8s/OpenShift, and experience with administering/architecting IIS webserver/Apache/WAF.

The candidate will have experience using architect tools like Visio/LucidChart/ and exposure to Application Architecture. Familiarity with AppServer like Weblogic/Websphere/JBoss.

The successful candidate will have architecting redundant and scalable Database deployment for Oracle/MSSQL, experience with securing Network/Web Application/Database, exposure on any one of the Programming languages like C#/Java/Python/Bash/PowerShell, experience with CI/CD tools like Ansible/Jenkins/SonarQube/Artefactory/Veracode, design and architecting for both native/hybrid cloud on AWS/Azure/GoogleCloud deployments, exposure to IaaS/PaaS/SaaS deployments/setup, knowledge on IaaC-Terraform/CloudFormation.
