POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role within the Quality team at Silgan Plastics. This position involves conducting various analyses, testing, and follow-up procedures, while consistently ensuring that machinery is properly calibrated and measurements are accurately recorded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Foster a safe working environment.
  • Comprehend and comply with all Silgan safety protocols to safeguard oneself and colleagues.
  • Oversee SPC implementation and system management, assisting the Quality Manager and plant personnel with system management and initial setup.
  • Coordinate activities and data evaluations during mold qualifications.
  • Facilitate activities and data assessments during process capability analyses for clients.
  • Initiate internal audits and manage audit documentation.
  • Administer the AVBIS system, including setups and maintenance.


  • Support procedural training initiatives.
  • Conduct first article data evaluations.
  • Perform last shot data assessments and manage follow-up requirements.


  • Review Quality documentation and data on a daily basis.
  • Address online issues arising from documentation reviews as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory:
Associate's Degree

Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory: 5 years in a Quality-related role, with strong knowledge of SPC and manufacturing experience.

Preferred:
5 years as a Quality Engineer in a plastics manufacturing setting.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Mandatory:
Proficiency in SPC, measuring instruments, daily data analysis, and advanced Microsoft Suite skills, particularly Excel. A solid understanding of SPC and Quality experience in a manufacturing environment is essential for this role.
