Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Inova Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of patient specimens and laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality specimens for laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results.
  • Operate systems/methodologies to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control, and proficiency testing.
  • Participate in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science from a college/university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency.
  • Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program, NAACLS or ABHES accredited MSL program, or a foreign medical laboratory science clinical training program within the last five years.
  • ASCP or AMT Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility.
