Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Hospice department, you will be responsible for coordinating daily operations, ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives, and providing quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assigns, directs, educates, and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shifts to ensure effective patient care.
  • Completes and/or contributes to performance evaluations of staff, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
  • Serves as a resource to staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Performs patient visits as needed to assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Manages patient flow within assigned areas, ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Provides support and coordination for patient emergencies, responding promptly to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Coordinates patient care and referrals, ensuring that patient needs are continually assessed and individualized plans of care are developed, implemented, and updated.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care, identifying any issues that affect desired patient outcomes and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Responds to complaints about patient care, managing through established channels to resolve issues promptly and fairly.
  • May be designated as the pre-designated manager and/or alternate administrator of a Medicare provider number during operating hours, as assigned.
  • Provides support and coordination for patient emergencies, opening and leading incident command for internal or external disasters until relieved by assigned administrative representatives.
  • May perform or provide input for hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating staff.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years' registered nurse experience, with demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
  • Frequent driving.
