Job Description:
We seek experienced and enthusiastic Support Teachers to help implement our ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily class functions and supervise a group of children.
- Observing all rules and regulations at Primrose School at Tradition and local regulatory agencies.
- Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
- Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom environment.
- Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear expectations for their behavior.
- Assist with maintenance and housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
- Maintain professional appearance adhering to guidelines in the Primrose School Employee Handbook.
- Perform other tasks as determined by the Director or designee.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for handling children, child safety, and emergency situations.
