Position Overview:

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for delivering mandated individual and group therapy to adult male sexual offenders classified as Sexually Violent Persons (SVPs) within a specialized treatment facility. This role involves active participation in the management of resident therapy groups, conducting assessments, and developing treatment strategies tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide therapeutic interventions for individuals and groups.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of residents.
  • Monitor and document the safety and well-being of residents exhibiting harmful behaviors.
  • Supervise and mentor psychology interns and students in clinical settings.
  • Engage in collaborative treatment planning with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of psychological evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in research initiatives related to mental health and offender rehabilitation.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff and contribute to ongoing training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all clinical practices.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Active licensure as a Psychologist in the relevant jurisdiction or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience with forensic populations and knowledge of sexual offender treatment preferred.
