Job Title: Marine Weight Management Engineer (Hybrid Schedule Available)
Location: Metairie, LA

Position Overview: We are looking for a proficient Marine Weight Management Engineer to enhance our operations in Metairie, LA. The successful candidate will hold a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering and bring at least 3 years of experience in the design and development of vessels, including both structural and auxiliary systems for various marine vehicles such as patrol boats, offshore supply vessels, tugs, and barges. This position also requires the technical oversight of weight modifications as vessels evolve from initial design to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage vessel configurations, focusing on structural and auxiliary systems.
  • Monitor and regulate weight alterations throughout the vessel's development process.
  • Ensure adherence to maritime regulations and standards, including ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, and IMO.
  • Facilitate effective communication and provide leadership within the engineering team and with external partners.
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timelines are met in a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience in vessel design and development.
  • Knowledge of ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO, and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, FEA, GHS, and Rhino software is preferred.
  • Capability to manage several projects while adhering to strict deadlines.
