Job Title: Florida Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist

At CorVel Enterprise Comp, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Florida Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for managing complex and problematic workers' compensation claims within delegated limited authority to determine benefits due.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and gather information regarding claims and files necessary documentation with state agencies.
  • Determine validity and compensability of claims by analyzing data and making informed decisions.
  • Establish reserves and authorize payments within reserving authority limits.
  • Develop and manage well-documented action plans with case managers and outcomes managers to reduce overall claim costs.
  • Coordinate early return-to-work efforts with relevant parties.
  • Manage subrogation and litigation of claims as applicable.
  • Report claims to excess carriers when necessary.
  • Communicate claim status with customers and claimants.
  • Adhere to client and carrier guidelines and participate in claims review as needed.
  • Develop and maintain professional customer relationships.
  • Comply with rules and regulations of applicable states.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience handling Florida workers' compensation claims.
  • 6+ years of experience adjusting Florida lost-time and litigated claims.
  • Florida workers' compensation adjuster license required.
  • Municipality experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
