We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Comfort Systems USA. As a key member of our mechanical construction team, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing mechanical systems on various commercial and industrial construction sites.
Key Responsibilities- Fabrication and Installation: Assist with the installation of a variety of HVAC materials, including round pipe, spiral duct, flex duct, motorized dampers, fire dampers, splitter dampers, air devices, louvers, and air moving equipment.
- Material Alteration: Assist with fabrication or alteration of materials using shears, hammers, punches, snips, drills, brakes, and bending rollers, as well as other handheld and power tools.
- Support Hanger Installation: Install support hangers and make duct connections using clips, drives, nuts, bolts, TDC tape, sealer, sheet metal screws, and other necessary materials.
- Drilling and Punching: Assist with drilling and punching holes in metal for screws, bolts, rivets, and install spin-in, peel and stick, or airtight duct tape, connect to branch duct.
- Work at Heights: Ability to work from ladders, manlifts, and other equipment at various heights.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Experience: Experience working within the HVAC/mechanical trade is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Skills: Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to perform routine measurements and calculations. Ability to work with fractions, percentages, and decimals.
- Additional Requirements: Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude. Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter. Mechanical aptitude. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Regular and punctual attendance. Ability to stand, squat, bend, climb, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
