Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Site Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Site Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating daily pickups and package outgoing shipments, delivering shipments to the loading dock, and coordinating daily shipping schedules with the Alexion Shipping coordinator.

You will also be responsible for verifying shipment contents against the manifest, assisting the ULS loading dock team as required, and using inventory/order management electronic systems to perform various activities such as on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing.

In addition, you will perform laboratory services such as order delivery, inventory management, and sample shipment preparation, analyze and maintain various reports to ensure contractual requirements are met, and work within computer systems to access and follow standard operating procedures.

You will also be responsible for proactively communicating any customer concerns and/or potential problems to the supervisor, addressing customer concerns within established resolution timeframes reliably, and embracing Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily shipping schedules with the Alexion Shipping coordinator

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • 2 years of related experience in customer service required (ideally within a laboratory setting is preferred)
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver excellent customer service
  • Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site
  • Independently operates handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed
Work Environment

Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc). Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be required, including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glasses.

Must consistently lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds; occasional lifting of 50 pounds may be necessary, using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods. Ability to work overtime, as needed.
