We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at Optum. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the healthcare needs of our patients and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff
  • Communicate with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and/or to confirm appointments
  • Perform insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary
  • Enter patient demographic information and scan documents into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Correspond with referring providers and/or patients for reports, information exchange, scheduling, x-rays, and paperwork
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • Ability to work onsite at any of our facilities as needed
  • Ability to work any shift between the hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM from Monday – Friday, with rotating Saturdays, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
