Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pulmonologist to join our dynamic healthcare team at the Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHCS). As a Pulmonologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating pulmonary and sleep conditions on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with pulmonary and sleep disorders
  • Perform procedures such as CVP placement, intubation, bronchoscopy, and interpret PFTs and sleep studies
  • Work collaboratively with the ICU Director to provide critical care services
  • Participate in quality management and performance improvement initiatives
  • Provide direct patient care and customer service
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with on-call duties on weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary.

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: up to $240,000 per year. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be available for highly qualified candidates. Selected candidates may be eligible for education loan assistance through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Qualifications
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Doctor of medicine or equivalent degree
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine
Preferred Experience

Minimum of one year of direct patient care post-fellowship experience.
