Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant is integral to the patient care team, supporting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care to patients in an outpatient setting. This role ensures efficient operations within a busy medical practice, helping patients navigate their healthcare journey. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing clinical tasks such as gathering medical histories and assisting during physical assessments
  • Acting as a liaison among patients, healthcare providers, and other medical staff
  • Taking and recording patients' vital signs
  • Administering vaccinations and medications
  • Documenting patient data in the electronic health record system
  • Collecting samples for laboratory analysis

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program or at least two years of verified experience in the medical assisting field within the last five years
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer and keyboard usage
  • Knowledge of ambulatory care tools and equipment
  • Current AHA CPR certification
  • Willingness to travel locally to various sites
  • Able to perform under pressure and in demanding situations
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with the ability to make prompt decisions
  • Capability to work varying shifts throughout the week
  • Physical ability to assist with patient lifting and transfer as necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently, using patient handling equipment for heavier lifts

Special circumstances regarding lifting or movement of patients will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
