Float Pool Preoperative PACU Nurse PRN

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Float Pool Preoperative PACU Nurse PRN to join our team at HCA Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced preoperative and postoperative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Rotate to other ambulatory surgery center facilities to provide patient care services
- Prepare patient care areas adequately before cases and ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies
- Initiate intravenous therapy as prescribed, utilizing aseptic technique and appropriate IV start kits, catheters, and fluids
- Ensure that medications are labeled appropriately and administered pre-operatively as prescribed, utilizing safety medication practices
- Monitor patients until they are transferred to the OR and recognize signs and symptoms of potential post-procedure or anesthesia-related complications, reporting them to the anesthesiologist immediately
- Monitor and maintain proper intravenous intake and output, documenting patient assessments upon admission
- Check dressings and/or operative sites and report abnormalities to the surgeon, ensuring that patients meet all discharge criteria
- Nursing Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a preoperative, postoperative, or ICU setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
- Additional specialty experience may be required as per facility practices (i.e., pediatric, GI, etc.)
- Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure
- Valid BCLS & ACLS certifications required upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
- PALS certification within 90 days or earlier per department arrangement
