Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator will report to the Senior Safety Manager and support personnel across all departments. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures, as well as excellent communication and training skills.

Responsibilities
  • Assist local management in investigating work-related incidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
  • Develop mitigation measures and corrective actions to reduce the risk of hazards.
  • Conduct or facilitate training and education programs for supervisory and field employees.
  • Administer recordkeeping and documentation for compliance with safety training policies.
  • Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features.
Requirements
  • 3-4 years of Electric Utility Safety Coordinator experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Knowledge of substation safe work practices and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs, risks, and benefits of potential actions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BCSP certifications.
  • OSHA 500/510 certification.
Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and working in inclement weather conditions.
