About the Role

As a Public Safety Professional - Field Agent Trainee with the State of South Carolina, you will play a vital role in ensuring public safety by enforcing laws and regulations related to sex offender supervision. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $51,125.00 per year, which includes comprehensive benefits such as health and dental insurance, retirement plans, and paid vacation time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document the enforcement of sex offender conditions and laws.
  • Understand and comply with South Carolina Sex Offender Registry requirements.
  • Identify red flag behaviors associated with reoffending and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective public safety.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science with 15 semester hours of relevant coursework.
  • Or an associate's degree with two years of military or certified law enforcement experience.
  • Or a high school diploma with four years of military or certified law enforcement experience.
  • C-1 law enforcement certification within one year of employment.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid South Carolina driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with Department policy and procedures.
  • Willingness to complete 12 weeks of CJA training and three weeks of PPP Basic training.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in various environments, including state prisons and local jails, and may involve exposure to adverse conditions and abusive language.
