Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team at the South Carolina Department of Public Health. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our legal team and contributing to the agency's mission to protect and promote the health and well-being of everyone in South Carolina.

The Role: In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to work in a fast-paced and intellectually challenging environment, collaborating with experienced attorneys and other professionals to provide expert support and advice on a wide range of legal issues affecting public health. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative assistance to assigned attorneys, monitoring and advising on correspondence and legal documents, maintaining current caseload information, and preparing draft templates for routine legal documents.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma and two years of legal administrative experience. A paralegal certificate or five years' experience as a paralegal or legal assistant is preferred. You should possess knowledge of law office operations, legal procedure, and word processing skills, with a strong working knowledge of the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure. Excellent organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively, and ability to prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines are essential.

Salary: $48,372.50 - $71,439.00 Annually (estimated)
