Bakery Production Third Shift Job Description

At VG's Grocery, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences through our team's hard work and dedication. As a Bakery Production Third Shift team member, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our bakery products meet the highest standards of quality and freshness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bake, fry, decorate, package, display, and stock bakery products to meet production schedules and customer demands.
  • Price, date, wrap, and/or bag bakery products to ensure accurate labeling and presentation.
  • Properly fill, rotate, and merchandise bakery shelves, cases, and displays to maintain a visually appealing store environment.
  • Notify the Bakery Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Assist in receiving, unloading, and stocking of merchandise to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all bakery products, including differences in price, taste, preparation, and use.
  • Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines to minimize waste and maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety Guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations to maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.
  • Follow Guest Experience Guidelines to provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of retail or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
