Parole Officer I

Job Summary

This position provides critical support to the State of Kansas by assisting adult offenders released on parole to reintegrate into their communities. As a Parole Officer I, you will work closely with offenders to develop and maintain case plans, provide supervision services, and coordinate community resources to enhance their rehabilitation and reintegration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain case plans to address public safety issues, reduce criminogenic risks, and enhance pro-social behavior.
  • Provide supervision services, including counseling on employment, housing, and community resources.
  • Maintain personal contact with offenders, conduct home visits, and obtain urine samples as necessary.
  • Document offender files accurately and timely, conduct LS/CMI and WRNA classification interviews, and use assessment tools to determine supervision levels.
  • Investigate incidents of misconduct, condition violations, and law enforcement opinions regarding prospective parolees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, or Behavioral Sciences, or equivalent experience and education.
  • Valid driver's license and certification as a Parole Officer by the Secretary of Corrections.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships, organize and analyze information, and respond to signs of danger.
