ECMO Specialist PRN Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled ECMO Specialist PRN to join our SpecialtyCare team in Torrance, CA. As an ECMO Specialist, you will operate and maintain ECMO circuits for patients requiring long-term pulmonary and/or cardiopulmonary support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians, perfusionists, and other clinical staff members with ECMO initiation, course, and conclusion.
  • Demonstrate a culture of safety through thorough hand-offs and circuit examinations.
  • Ensure continuity of the ECMO circuit, reducing risks of compromise through regular assessments.
  • Monitor anticoagulation, analgesics, and other infusions, adjusting as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active license or Respiratory Therapist (RT) with current RRT certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Perfusion and certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Superior working knowledge of ECMO therapy, including circuit operation and anticoagulation management.
