Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

At Hackensack Meridian Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in our Pulmonary Rehab and PFT departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat patients with respiratory disorders, including those requiring mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy.
  • Conduct cardiopulmonary evaluations, monitoring, and respiratory therapy treatments, as well as provide patient education and support.
  • Administer and monitor medical gases, mechanical ventilation support, and artificial airway care, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Set up and operate respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Participate in the management of patients on life support systems, recommending and performing changes based on blood gas results and weaning studies.
  • Respond to emergency and trauma codes, and participate in the clinical performance of Certified Respiratory Care Technicians.
  • Perform quality control checks on blood gas analyzers and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Associate degree.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all clinical aspects of Respiratory Care.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
