Position Title: Investor Relations Associate

Role Summary

Barings is in search of an Associate to join its Global Investor Relations Team based in Charlotte. This role is essential to the U.S. team and involves close collaboration with counterparts in London and Hong Kong. Key responsibilities include managing daily Investor Relations activities, engaging directly with clients and internal teams, and identifying improvements to enhance the Client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various Transfer Agents, including participating in regular service review meetings, addressing escalated issues, and ensuring compliance with SLAs & KPIs.
  • Handle dealing, settlement, registration, and waiver inquiries from our Transfer Agent partners, ensuring adherence to market practices.
  • Manage Capital activities such as subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and non-financial tasks including new investor setup and data maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Transfer Agents to resolve AML Customer Due Diligence issues and conduct annual reviews.
  • Respond to requests from Distributors, Fund Platforms, or Data Vendors for accurate completion of fund data templates within specified timelines.
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues across departments such as Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Client Onboarding.
  • Support new client onboarding processes across the Retail/Wealth channel, coordinating with business line partners to ensure a seamless Client experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in asset management, transfer agency, or banking, specifically in an Investor Relations capacity.
  • Strong client-focused mindset and excellent interpersonal skills; our team culture is essential.
  • Experience in the Wealth/Retail sector; familiarity with RIAs and custodians is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and address various inquiries from clients and colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
