This position is a Fish and Wildlife Biologist, GS /9 working in Davis, West Virginia for the R5-West Virginia Ecological Services Field Office. The selected candidate will provide professional technical assistance to partners, project proponents, and other agencies regarding the Endangered Species Act. The position requires a strong understanding of fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical assistance to partners and agencies on the Endangered Species Act.
- Develop and implement conservation plans for fish and wildlife species.
- Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to achieve conservation goals.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform conservation decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines.
- One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-5 in the Federal service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats.
